A webinar (short for Web-based Seminar) is a seminar or training session that’s transmitted over the internet. A key feature of a webinar is its interactive element, allowing participants to both give and discuss information, rather than just receive it.
All of Workplace Safety Trainers are industry experienced professionals who teach safety procedures and actively involve the students in the training session. Because of the two-way nature of webinars, students can easily ask questions and share solutions to safety issues they have encountered with both the instructor and the other students in the session.

Workplace Safety Trainers screens all trainers carefully. Each trainer not only has extensive experience teaching the safety classes they specialize in but also practical experience with safety issues faced everyday by both employee and employer. Our trainers also receive further training in the technologies involved in online training and the teaching techniques required to keep students involved and attentive.
Instructor Led Internet Training is a proven technology that allows WST to deliver high quality safety training to anyone, any where that has a PC and broadband access. A key feature of remote training is its interactive elements—the ability for participants to also give and discuss information, rather than just receive it.
After a student registers for a class, the student receives an e-mail that contains a web link, a password and a telephone number. Just prior to the class the student logs into the training session. The video portion of the class will be shown. The student then either uses the Voice Over IP (VOIP) option (if his PC has a speaker and microphone) or dials into the phone number given. As each student comes into the class, the instructor is notified and the student is welcomed into the class.
During the class the instructor will present the class materials. The instructor engages the students with questions and anecdotes. At any time the student can ask a question of the teacher or of another student. Every student will hear the question and the answer. Additionally, the student can type in a question to the instructor. At the instructor’s discretion, he can respond by typing the answer to the student asking the question or if he feels the question is of value to the whole class, he can read it to the class and answer the question.
Some training classes require a test or other form of evaluation at the end of the session. When a test is required, the student logs into a test web site and takes the test.
At the successful completion of the training, the student receives a certificate of completion and receives an OSHA Card from OSHA. Depending on the backlog at OSHA, the card can take up to six weeks to be received.
First, register for a session. After registration, each student receives an e-mail containing step-by-step instructions on how to join a session. Five minutes prior to the beginning of the training session, each student logs in using the web link and password provided in the e-mail. The video portion of the class will be shown. The student then either uses the Voice Over IP (VoIP) option (if the PC has a speaker and microphone) or dials the phone number also provided in the e-mail. As each student logs in, the instructor is notified and the student welcomed to the training session.
To attend a session on a PC, the following is required:
Minimum of Pentium® Class 1GHz CPU with 512 MB of RAM (recommended) (2 GB of RAM for Windows® Vista) running Windows® 2000, XP, 2003 Server or Vista
Internet Explorer® 6.0 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® 2.0 or newer (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection
Participants wishing to connect to audio using VoIP will need a fast Internet connection, a microphone and speakers (a USB headset is recommended).
To attend a session using a Macintosh computer, students must download and install a program.
WST looks for experience trainers who are excellent teachers. Our trainers have to be personable, knowledgeable and computer literate with access to a PC with high speed internet access. Industry experience is a plus.
We publish a list of classes that need instructors. You can select the classes you want to teach. The times for the classes are set, but you can decide if you want to teach them. If you are interested in teaching a class, you e-mail us and you will be eligible to teach the class.
We will notify you if you are to teach the class.
Compensation for each class is based on a hourly rate. If you decide to teach it, you will earn the rate times the number of hours in the class. After the class is completed, you will complete an attendance sheet for each class showing the students that attended the class and those who successfully completed it.
We create and mail checks on the Friday of the week following the classes for all classes completed and whose attendance sheets are received. As contractors, you are responsible for all taxes.
No expenses will be paid to a trainer unless Workplace Safety Trainers agrees to them in advance and in writing.

Instructor Led Internet Training cannot be used for all types of safety training. For some safety training classes, OSHA requires that student use safety equipment as part of the training. For classes with that requirement, remote training is not necessarily feasible.
When a class is offered as a remote training class, it can also be held as an on-site training session. In that case the decision is often made based on cost. If you have 15 or more students, it may be more cost effective to have the training on-site. With on-site training, the trainer will meet with you prior to training to understand any safety problems your organization is having and any safety procedures you want emphasized. The trainer can then stress those issues.

and we will be happy to help you decide whether remote or on-site training makes the most sense for your organization.
Proper workplace safety training is one of the keys to complying with OSHA regulations and to reducing workers' compensation insurance premiums.
Even the reduction of a single injury can pay for the safety training you give your employees. Not only is there savings for the direct cost of the injury but also in lost productivity time and higher Workers Compensation premiums. When there is an injury, OSHA can audit the training your employees’ have received. If OSHA finds that you failed to give training or the training was not given by an OSHA Authorized Outreach Training, your organization can be liable for substantial fines and penalties.
Some state’s Workers Compensation premiums can be reduced directly by giving your employees all the training they need.
Employee workplace safety training is time and money well spent. Effective safety training can result in fewer injuries and illness, better moral and lower insurance premiums.
For Forklift Safety Training, each student must display proficiency in operating the equipment that the student is being instructed on.
In OSHA's view, self-paced, interactive computer-based training can serve as a valuable training tool in the context of an over-all training program. However, use of computer-based training by itself is not sufficient to meet the intent of the standard's various training requirements. That would leave you liable in case of an employee injury or OSHA audit.
