Become a WST Trainer

WST TrainerWorkplace Safety Trainers (WST) is currently looking for trainers who specialize in Forklift Instructional Training. WST will also be adding workplace safety trainings of all types including Lock out / Tag Out procedures, Hazardous Chemicals and Communications’, HAZWOPER, OSHA Outreach Training, Accident and Injury reporting, etc.

If you are interested in working from the comfort of your home or office, to deliver live specialized webinar style training in the area of your expertise please fill out the short form below. You must be able to provide a training environment over the Internet free of distractions such as incoming phone calls, children, outside noises such as traffic, etc. You will need to have updated computer capabilities to accommodate headphones for two-way communications with your students and a webcam to project your head shot so your students receive a small window pane to see who their instructor is. If there is a reason why you would prefer to not have a streaming video of your head-shot projected to your students but possess a dynamic teaching style WST would consider your situation individually.

You will also need high-speed Internet access that is strong and reliable and that is preferably land-line connected as opposed to wireless. Lastly, you will need to become proficient with the technology powered by Cisco WebEx, but don’t worry because Cisco has made this platform extremely user-friendly and we will work with you to make sure you are comfortable before you teach any class. Whatever software and material you use to teach on your computer such as PowerPoint, slides, pictures, Microsoft Word, Excel, small video clips, illustrations, etc is what will be seen by your students (typically no more than 25) on their computers.

All trainer positions are compensated as independent contractors based on experience. This means that an IRS Form 1099 will be issued for the calendar year and the trainer is responsible to make sure all appropriate taxes are paid to local, state and federal governments. Keep in mind that according to the IRS a person can make up to $600 before having to pay taxes on that amount. Given this information, this would be an ideal opportunity to try a few classes and see if becoming a WST Trainer is something that is mutually beneficial to yourself and WST.
